About The Position

Nebraska Medicine is seeking an Employee Relations Advisor to join our team. The Employee Relations Advisor plays an integral role in enhancing organizational culture. As a highly experienced HR professional this role is responsible for managing complex employee relations issues, conducting thorough investigations, providing expert advice to leadership on employment policies and practices, ensuring compliance with labor laws, and promoting a positive and productive work environment within an organization, often acting as a key liaison between employees, leaders, and HR leadership on sensitive matters; requiring deep knowledge of employment law and strong analytical skills to resolve conflicts effectively. This role follows a hybrid schedule, combining on-site and remote work. Employees must reside in Nebraska or Iowa.

Requirements

  • Minimum of three years previous employee relations experience required.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Experience in conflict management, including conducting workplace environmental assessments.
  • Strong influencing skills with the ability to guide and mentor leaders through employment-related decisions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven facilitator/mediation skills.
  • Working knowledge of employment regulations.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to maintain confidential information.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously with frequent interruptions.
  • Broad knowledge of organization Human Resource and other applicable policies.
  • Understanding of federal and state employment regulations.
  • Experience with typical office equipment.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in healthcare administration, business administration or human resources administration preferred.
  • PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred.
