About The Position

The Employee Readiness Workshop Instructor (Employee Training Specialist II) is responsible for instructing students at the Occupational Skills Training Center (OSTC) in Baltimore, MD, focusing on employment readiness skills. The role aims to prepare adults for successful reintegration into the workforce by teaching essential skills such as resume writing, interviewing, and job exploration.

Requirements

  • Six years of experience planning and conducting employee development and training.
  • Possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and two years of experience planning, conducting or coordinating training or staff development activities may substitute for the required experience.
  • U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in education and training classification may substitute for the required experience.

Responsibilities

  • Instruct students on life skills, resume writing, interviewing skills, job keeping skills, goal setting, and job exploration.
  • Address skills to find work.
  • Prepare adults to find work using internet resources with little or no outside help.
  • Teach adults to manage future work life changes.
  • Distribute copies of the syllabus at the beginning of the first-class session and provide an overview in class.
  • Check roster and take attendance each class session, verifying registration.
  • Provide evaluation packets at the end of class sessions and return them within one week prior to the end of class.
  • Post class grades within 72 hours after the class is over.
