The Oasis at Death Valley is situated in a lush, spring-fed desert oasis, surrounded by the vast and arid desert of Death Valley National Park. The Oasis operates the historic AAA Four Diamond Inn and Ranch, restaurants, gift shops, and the world's lowest elevation golf course. Both hotels are open year-round and feature swimming pools fed by naturally warm local springs. We’re hiring Employee Pubtenders to Live. Work. Explore. in Death Valley National Park! Job Summary: The Employee Pubtenders are responsible for providing great guest service by serving quality cocktails and non-alcoholic beverages, pouring a proper draft beer and decanting wine to achieve the best taste. Manage proper inventory and check customer identification to ensure legal drinking age. The Details: Position Type: Full-Time, Year-Round or Seasonal Season Dates: As soon as possible on next available check in date (approximately three weeks) Pay: $17.20/hr Schedule: Typical schedule is 40 hours, 5 days per week (may include weekends, evenings, and holidays) Why the Oasis at Death Valley? Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age or older.
  • Must have at least 1 year of food and beverage experience
  • Must possess or obtain a California Food Handler’s Card within 30 days of hire.
  • Must possess or obtain a TIPS certification for servers of alcohol within 30 days of hire.
  • Excellent customer service and organization skills.
  • High level of professionalism and communication skills (provide clear instructions/directions).
  • Verbal comprehension (Understand oral and written communications, follow detailed directions).
  • Attention to Detail skills (minimize the risk of error).
  • Reasoning skills (problem solving and troubleshooting skills).
  • Multi-tasking and prioritization skills.
  • Able to lift and carry up to 30 lbs.
  • Ability to work standing and walking for at least 8 hours.
  • Moderate to loud noise level
  • Ability to work in extreme climates

Responsibilities

  • Deliver a consistently high level of guest service in an efficient manner.
  • Offer and serve alcoholic beverages while adhering to established Xanterra standards, procedures, and alcohol policies.
  • Accurately enter both food and beverage items in the Point Of Sale (POS) system.
  • Serve food and beverages promptly to guests. Collect and process forms of payment, ensuring guest satisfaction.
  • Maximize sales through menu knowledge and suggestive selling. Motivate and educate staff in up-selling techniques and wine salesmanship.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, safe and properly stocked service area; ensure lounge area is clean at all times.
  • Maintain an accurate cash drawer throughout the shift.
  • Other duties as assigned
