About The Position

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field (preferred).
  • Minimum of 5 years in a responsible Human Resources position or related field.
  • Strong understanding of HR policies and best practices.
  • Experience in public sector case management and performance management techniques.
  • Ability to conduct effective workplace investigations and interviews.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and office technology.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's Degree in a related field.
  • SHRM Certification and/or Association of Workplace Investigators Certification.
  • Experience in Employee Labor Relations within the CSU.

Responsibilities

  • Represent the University independently in employee labor relations matters.
  • Provide counsel, direction, and recommendations to administrators and staff.
  • Ensure compliance with CSU policies and state and federal HR/labor laws.
  • Resolve complex University issues and identify impacts on operations.
  • Serve as a liaison with the Office of the Chancellor for policy guidance.
  • Prepare documentation for PERB, SPB, EEOC, and other hearings.
  • Assist with scheduling and maintaining Outlook calendars.
  • Prepare data and statistical analysis reports for strategic insights.
  • Utilize the ELR Case Management System to track activities.
  • Formulate strategies to improve employee relations and manage labor issues.
  • Develop procedures that align with labor laws and union agreements.
  • Respond to union information requests and grievances.
  • Conduct workplace investigations and prepare reports.
  • Track performance evaluations and ensure compliance.
  • Complete special projects as assigned.
