About The Position

Under the direction of the Nurse Manager, the Employee Health Specialist role facilitates centralized scheduling for Employee Health system-wide and assists with throughput and processing of team members at the South location. Performs a variety of tasks and essential duties in the promotion of team member wellness including scheduling, customer service, collaboration with all clinical services staff, and being the electronic medical record point-of-contact.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • At least 3 years combined clerical, customer service and office management experience required, with experience in a medical setting preferred.
  • BLS required
  • Must be able to communicate professionally, both verbally and in writing.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Must be able to cope with stressful situations.
  • Ability to answer questions from employees, volunteers, students on safety and health issue policies.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
  • Position requires sitting for 50% of the workday and mobility 50% of the workday.
  • There is occasional stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching.
  • There is frequent reaching, use of hands and repetitive action.
  • Requires occasional lifting or carrying up to 15 pounds, pushing/pulling up to 70 pounds.
  • There is a continuous need for speaking with clear diction and hearing sensitivity in conversation either by phone or in person.
  • Continuous visual acuity at close and distant range.
  • Inside protected from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes.
  • Minimal noise levels.
  • Much exposure to computer work.
  • Occasional exposure to risk of electrical shock.
  • Some exposure to infectious disease while performing job-related tasks.
  • Some exposure to hazardous chemicals.
  • Occasional exposure to radiation.
