About The Position

The Employee Health Nurse RN will provide health services for hospital employees through programs which are conducive to the prevention of illness/injury and the maintenance of healthy productive individuals. Works closely with Infection Prevention to ensure surveillance for infection in personnel and assist with exposure investigation and implementation of prevention methods. Develops and provides immunization programs to provide protection from vaccine preventable infections and coordinates annual TB testing and Flu vaccination programs. Collaborates with risk management and unit directors in the management of job related injuries and work restrictions. Collaborates with Human Resources for FMLA program.

Requirements

  • 1 year Employee Health experience or 2 years nursing related experience.
  • Graduate of accredited RN program.

Responsibilities

  • Provide health services for hospital employees.
  • Work closely with Infection Prevention for surveillance and exposure investigation.
  • Develop and provide immunization programs.
  • Coordinate annual TB testing and Flu vaccination programs.
  • Collaborate with risk management and unit directors on job-related injuries.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources for FMLA program.
  • Interpret and evaluate examinations, laboratory reports, and screening tests.
  • Ensure appropriate medical care for work-related injuries and exposures.
  • Manage the drug screening program.
  • Coordinate and administer TB skin tests and immunization programs.
  • Administer OSHA Blood/Body Fluid protocol and maintain statistical data.
  • Maintain accurate team member files and records.
  • Monitor trends in team members' injury and illness.
  • Coordinate employee return to work clearances.
  • Determine educational needs based on assessments and changes.
  • Develop and implement education programs for employee safety.
  • Counsel employees after exposure incidents or positive infection tests.
  • Develop and coordinate implementation of health care policies and procedures.
  • Participate on committees to ensure quality health care services.
  • Utilize equipment and resources efficiently and ensure proper disinfection.
  • Order supplies and medications.
  • Perform organizational Service Standards focused on Values, Service, and Quality.
