About The Position

A Day in the Life As the Employee Health Nurse, you will document all employee injuries and illnesses within the workplace. You may perform pre-employment screenings, routine and specialized vaccinations and immunizations and testing as well as return-to-work exams. You will work closely with our employees as a key resource for first aid, exposures, immunizations, and interpretation of workplace restrictions. The work you do will make a difference! The Employee Health Nurse assists in implementing medical surveillance programs as deemed necessary by regulatory agencies such as OSHA, CDC and JACHO or as requested in cooperation with Infection Prevention and/or Occupational Health physician. You will document employee health records and visits thoroughly and accurately in the Employee Health computer database.

Requirements

  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Michigan
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or a related degree preferred. January 1, 2009, it is encouraged to obtain a BSN. Certification in the specialty area of practice is also encouraged. For those hired into an RN position after January 1st, 2009, it is required to obtain a BSN within 10 years of start date. For those hired into an RN position after January 1st, 2015, it is required to obtain a BSN within 5 years of start date.
  • 3 Years Experience in Acute care nursing experience, employee health background and/or certification in occupational health, working knowledge of CDC/OSHA regulations and standards preferred.
  • Experience with Excel and basic computer systems required.
  • Munson Healthcare requires all employees be vaccinated or have lab confirmed immunity for Measles, Mumps, Rubella and Varicella.
  • MHC also requires all employees to receive a flu vaccine during the flu season in the year that they are hired and annually thereafter, or receive an approved medical or religious exemption.

Nice To Haves

  • employee health background and/or certification in occupational health, working knowledge of CDC/OSHA regulations and standards preferred.
  • Prior database maintenance experience preferred.
