About The Position

The Employee Health Nurse or CMA will be responsible for providing assistance to the Employee Health Department in the coordination and delivery of nursing care to SBL employees and assist in the coordination of additional services through SBL networks and departments. They will perform employee or office-related duties including clinical measurements, data collection, maintaining records, reporting required data, and assisting with compliance following occupational and employee health regulations and workplace safety standards. The Employee Health Nurse or CMA will document data and information clearly and accurately in employee health records.

Requirements

  • LPN or CMA certification required.
  • High School diploma required.
  • BLS or CPR certification within 90 days of hire.
  • Graduate of Accredited LPN Program.
  • Licensed Practical Nurse - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation.

Responsibilities

  • Administer vaccines to staff (e.g. flu, Hepatitis B, MMR, Varicella) and assist with vaccination clinics.
  • Assist in management of Employee Health Software (Agility) and work toward integration with Workday.
  • Assist with needle stick injuries, blood-borne pathogen exposures, communicable disease exposures, and provide post-exposure prophylaxis per protocol.
  • Collaborate with and assist Employee Health, Occupational Health, and HR with employee medical clearance, ensuring timely and accurate communication and maintaining accurate and required paperwork in the employee health record.
  • Collaborate with Employee Health and other healthcare leaders to perform necessary and additional duties as assigned to support workplace health programs, and promote a safe, healthy work environment and overall employee well-being.
  • Communicate information at provider’s instruction regarding orders, results, instructions or recommendations. Route messages to provider or staff as appropriate.
  • Conduct respirator fit-testing and assist with fit-testing clinics.
  • Document clearly and accurately in employee health records, maintain accurate employee health records, and document responses to employee history/screening questions.
  • Follow Universal Precautions at all times during contact with employees, equipment, instruments, and/or specimens.
  • Keep providers and staff aware of employee requests, needs, and observations made that could be of value to the provider's assessment, care and follow-up.
  • Schedule employees for office/clinic visits as needed.
