About The Position

POSITION SUMMARY: Under general supervision from the Director of Nursing, the Employee Health Nurse will support all clinic operations with Infection Control safety policy and procedures for both patient health and employee health. Working closely with Human Resources, Director of Nursing, and external agencies, the EHC will have a critical role in ensuring we are collaborating with IHS and Public Health and other regulatory agencies. Primarily focused on employee immunizations, and partner and support Community Health and Outreach with event planning of various vaccine and testing clinics.

Requirements

  • RN licensure required
  • 5 years’ experience in a licensed nursing role
  • Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate large events
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize duties with constantly changing urgencies
  • Proficient with EHR systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and other web-based programs
  • Critical thinking and solution-based problem-solving skills necessary to support Senior Leadership
  • Reliable transportation and ability to travel between sites as necessary
  • HIPAA Exposure to PHI statement

  • Infection Control Certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assist Director of Nursing with ongoing assessment of department goals, programs, policies, and procedures as well as supporting nursing staff in completing competencies.
  • Be a liaison between triage nursing and human resources to support employee health activities such as immunizations, health screenings, internal contact tracing.
  • Support Infection Control Policies and Procedures with various EHR tasks such as charting, labeling specimens, while maintaining HIPAA regulations.
  • Collaboration with other internal departments and public health agencies in response to public health events and situations.
  • Provide subject matter expertise and counsel to Human Resources in developing employee safety programs, policies, procedures, and training.
  • Work on a team for various infection control type events including but not limited to secure vaccination, planning and coordinating flu vaccination clinics.
  • Assist with implementation and maintenance of infection prevention and control strategies related to controlling the transmission of infectious agents.
  • Support Human Resources and supervisors with the planning, organizing, development and implementation of educational programs for employees.
  • In collaboration with Human Resources, support employee health programs to prevent workplace injuries and support agency efforts when a workplace injury or illness does occur.
  • Manages lists of patients who need chronic care management services and patients who may have been overlooked and who have not been seen recently. This can include pts overdue on a periodic physical exam or care management follow-up visits.
  • Other duties as assigned.
