  • Proven experience leading incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action management.
  • Strong facilitation and coaching skills with the ability to influence frontline leaders and drive accountability.
  • Strong data skills: ability to track trends, build reports, and translate metrics into action.
  • Comfort operating in a fast-paced, multi-shift environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).

  • Experience managing security programs, access control systems, or vendor guard services.
  • Experience with EHS management systems and/or audit frameworks.

Responsibilities

  • Own the EHSS program for JEGS: set strategy, priorities, and annual plans aligned to operational goals and risk reduction.
  • Lead safety compliance and risk management including OSHA program management, hazard identification, inspections, corrective actions, and audit readiness.
  • Drive incident prevention and reduction: implement programs to reduce recordables, near misses, and lost-time events; lead root cause analysis and corrective action follow-through.
  • Manage workers’ comp and claims coordination in partnership with HR/Benefits and medical providers; support return-to-work and light duty processes.
  • Develop and deliver safety training (new hire orientation, job-specific safety, PIT/forklift partnership, lockout/tagout, hazard communication, emergency response, etc.) and ensure documentation is accurate and audit-ready.
  • Own environmental compliance as applicable (waste handling, spill prevention, storage, labeling, contractor controls, and any required reporting).
  • Lead emergency preparedness: develop and test response plans (fire, severe weather, medical, security events), run drills, and maintain readiness.
  • Oversee security operations: facility access controls, incident response protocols, vendor/guard coordination (if applicable), investigations, and loss prevention partnership.
  • Partner with Facilities/Maintenance and Operations to ensure safe equipment, safe processes, and effective preventive maintenance practices.
  • Build a safety culture across shifts: coach leaders, run safety committees, conduct Gemba-style safety walks, and reinforce “see it/say it/fix it” behaviors.
  • Manage EHSS metrics and reporting: TRIR/DART, near misses, audit scores, training compliance, corrective actions aging, workers’ comp trends, and leading indicators.
  • Maintain policies and documentation: SOPs, JSAs/JHAs, signage, PPE standards, contractor safety requirements, and required postings.
  • Serve as the site EHSS subject matter expert and primary contact for inspections and regulatory interactions.
