Requirements

  • Coursework in Human Resources, Administration, Psychology, or related field is preferred
  • Outgoing and energized by working with people
  • Ability to handle highly sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and Zoo staff
  • Customer-service oriented with a friendly and empathetic approach
  • Positive attitude and enthusiasm for improving the employee experience
  • Computer efficiency in applications such as Word, Excel, internet, and email
  • Interest in administrative tasks such as organization and presentation development
  • Ability to work alone or with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work at a fast pace while paying attention to details
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screening and criminal background check
  • Must provide proof of legal work eligibility in the United States

Responsibilities

  • Assist with onboarding new employees, helping them settle in and feel welcomed
  • Assist in tracking employee feedback through informal check-ins, surveys, or other channels
  • Ensure discretion with confidential information
  • Assist with new hire orientation and establishing a system for welcoming new employees to the organization
  • Maintain courteous, helpful, and professional behavior on the job
  • Support the success of the entire team by promoting a collaborative work environment
  • Contribute to problem-solving and cooperate with identified resolutions
  • Demonstrate regular attendance and punctuality
  • Bring issues and process improvement ideas to the attention of the Supervisor
  • Maintain verbal and written skills required for the position
  • Attend meetings and participate in committees as required
  • Complete trainings as required
  • Adhere to Company Dress Code Policy
  • Represent the Zoo in a professional manner
