About The Position

The Cook position at Newport Harbor Yacht Club in Newport Beach, California involves preparing and cooking food according to recipes and set standards. This includes cleaning and organizing the kitchen area.

Requirements

  • You have a culinary degree or equivalent experience and at least 3 years in a food prep role.
  • You’re familiar with all kitchen equipment and love experimenting with flavors.
  • You speak English and Spanish a bonus
  • Safety, sanitation, and teamwork are second nature to you.
  • You’re passionate about food and making people happy through your creations.
  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Knowledge of food safety procedures
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication skills
  • The ability to work as part of a team

Responsibilities

  • Cook daily employee meals with flair — from comforting classics to international favorites.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef to plan menus that excite and satisfy our team.
  • Ensure every dish is delicious, beautifully presented, and prepared safely.
  • Keep our kitchen running smoothly, cleanly, and efficiently.
  • Occasionally step into other kitchen roles — teamwork makes the dream work!
  • Preparing and cooking a variety of dishes
  • Ensuring food quality and presentation
  • Managing inventory and ordering supplies
  • Maintaining a clean and organized kitchen
  • Adhering to food safety and sanitation standards
