About The Position

The Benefits Relationship Manager at ALKEME is responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with employee benefits brokers to drive business growth and enhance client satisfaction. This role requires a deep understanding of the insurance industry, particularly in self-funded plans, and involves proactive communication and collaboration with brokers and clients to address their needs and provide strategic solutions. Requirements

  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 3-5 years experience in the employee benefits insurance industry, specifically in the self-funded area preferred.
  • 3 years experience with fully insured and self-funded plans preferred.
  • 3 years Account Management experience required.
  • Life & Health / Disability insurance licenses after 6 months of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience using a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system.
  • Project management experience.
  • Good working knowledge of financial arrangements and products available to clients.

Responsibilities

  • Handle a specific block of mid to large sized corporate clients for wholesale brokers.
  • Develop and maintain strong, ongoing relationships with brokers and clients within the wholesale book of business.
  • Act as the subject matter expert on self-funded clients and stop-loss coverage, contracts, etc.
  • Anticipate brokers and/or clients' needs and identify strategies to solve arising issues.
  • Proactively inform brokers and clients of industry trends and cost containment strategies.
  • Work with the Account management team to develop and execute strong broker and/or client Strategy Plans.
  • Participate in routine broker and/or client conference calls and meetings, ensuring all internal group members are informed of client needs and issues.
  • Coordinate management between client, broker, and operations teams regarding client implementations and service issues.
  • Act as the primary contact for underwriting teams to address and resolve broker inquiries.
