SUMMARY: The Employee Benefits Administrator will facilitate and serve as the primary point of reference for all employee benefit related programs and associated regulatory compliance.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in human resources or related field of study; related benefit administration experience may be substituted for education.
  • Minimum two years’ experience in employee Benefits Administration, including multi-state, Service Contract Act (SCA), and 401(k) Safe Harbor Plan administration.
  • Knowledge of principles and procedures of employee benefit administration.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to provide appropriate sensitivity and maintain strict confidentiality in complicated situations.
  • Ability to balance competing priorities.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Must have the ability to pass a satisfactory background screening and have positive references and proof of identity and legal authorization to work in the United States are required.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field of study.
  • 4 years Benefits Administration experience, including multi-state, Service Contract Act (SCA) and 401(k) Safe Harbor Plan administration.
  • Experience with Deltek-Costpoint preferred.
  • SHRM-CP or PHR Certification

Responsibilities

  • Develop and foster positive working relationships with employees, brokers, third party administrators, and vendors.
  • Oversee delivery of multiple employee health plans and coordinate 401(k) plan activities in accordance with plan documents and applicable law.
  • Respond to employee benefits inquiries and resolve issues in a timely, customer-focused manner.
  • Oversee interaction with various internal departments, payroll, accounting, and leadership to ensure proper plan functioning.
  • Maintain benefits-related compliance activities and documentation for applicable federal and state requirements (e.g., ACA, ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, FMLA, ADA).
  • Performs accurate, timely updates and maintenance of employee benefits enrollment to include new hires, terminations, life events, employee status changes and open enrollment into HRIS and vendor portals accurately and on time.
  • Monitor eligibility and deduction changes and coordinate with payroll to ensure accurate paycheck adjustments.
  • Reconcile monthly benefit invoices and coordinate for timely payment.
  • Support wage and benefits related implementation tasks when contracts are renewed or revised.
  • Support annual benefits renewal process, including reviewing plan documents and coordinating required updates.
  • Participate in and assist with annual 401(k) audit by coordinating requests and providing required documentation.
  • Develop and deliver benefits communications to promote understanding of benefit offerings and enrollment actions.
  • Review, process and respond to medical support orders and related questions.
  • Proactive coordination and active participation in benefits related presentations and training.
  • Other duties as assigned.
