About The Position

The Thomas J. Watson College of Engineering and Applied Science at Binghamton University is seeking a nationally recognized researcher for a tenured faculty position at the Full Professor level in the area of energy storage. This role, supported by the SUNY Empire Innovation Program, aims to enhance the university's capabilities in clean energy research and education. The successful candidate will contribute to cross-institutional collaborations and the university's Road Map Initiative in Smart Energy, focusing on translating research into commercially viable solutions.

Requirements

• PhD in engineering or a closely related discipline.
• Outstanding research credentials with a strong record of peer-reviewed publications.
• Proven research leadership and experience in securing external funding.
• Demonstrated effectiveness as an instructor at both undergraduate and graduate levels.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in applied materials science, power electronics, or power systems.
• Knowledge of battery recycling and management systems.
• Familiarity with optimization of battery manufacturing and supply chain.

Responsibilities

• Conduct cutting-edge research in energy storage and related fields.
