The EMG Technician position at Bergen Neurology, part of Englewood Health, is a temporary per diem role focused on performing all Neurodiagnostic Lab testing. The technician will be responsible for assessing patients, conducting Electromyography (EMG) and Evoked Response studies, and collecting pertinent information necessary for the interpretation of these tests. This role requires a commitment to service excellence, ensuring that all interactions with patients and staff exemplify the standards set by the organization. The position is located in Englewood, NJ, and involves working flexible hours as needed to meet departmental demands. In this role, the technician will perform all EMG recordings and Evoked Response studies, summarizing the patient's neurologic status and clinical history from various sources, including the patient's chart and discussions with knowledgeable individuals. The technician must adapt methods and instrumentation to achieve optimal results based on the patient's history and clinical observations. Additionally, the technician may be required to perform other duties as assigned, contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the Neurodiagnostic Lab. The ideal candidate for this position will have a strong background in EMG technology, having successfully completed an accredited educational program for EMG technicians or equivalent training. With a minimum of five years of experience in the field, the technician must possess excellent interpersonal skills to establish rapport with patients, the public, and staff, adhering to the Service Excellence Standards. The ability to handle interactions with severely ill patients is also essential, ensuring that care is delivered with compassion and professionalism.
