About The Position

The EMG Technical Specialist performs basic to advanced nerve conduction studies (NCS) in the laboratory under the indirect supervision of an EDX physician. The technologist has completed formal NCS training and holds an active registry as an RNCST or CNCT.

Requirements

  • Associate degree required.
  • Graduation from a CAAHEP-accredited END training program is highly desirable.
  • Active RNCST or CNCT required, or must be registry eligible and credentialed within 12 months. A signed statement of understanding will be required.
  • Minimum of 35 years of experience in NCS modalities is preferred. Experience in other nerve/muscle testing may be considered i.e.. Intra-Operative Neurophysiological Monitoring.
  • If the candidate does not have an associate degree or higher, an NCS credential from AAET or ABEM may substitute for completion of an END training program.
  • Must demonstrate strong analytical abilities and the capacity to work effectively and communicate clearly with both acute and chronically ill patients, as well as adapt to the unique circumstances surrounding their care
  • Health Care Provider BLS (American Heart, American Red Cross)

Nice To Haves

  • Graduation from a CAAHEP-accredited END training program is highly desirable.
  • Minimum of 35 years of experience in NCS modalities is preferred. Experience in other nerve/muscle testing may be considered i.e.. Intra-Operative Neurophysiological Monitoring.
