About The Position

The Neuro Diagnostic Technician position at Riverside Health System involves working under the direct supervision of a physician and manager to provide comprehensive diagnostic services, including nerve conduction studies, Visual Evoked Potentials (VEPS), Brainstem Auditory Evoked Responses (BAER), Somatosensory Evoked Potentials (SSEP), and Electroencephalograms (EEG). This role is critical in delivering both diagnostic and therapeutic services, as well as patient care and education. The technician will be responsible for collecting, analyzing, and integrating patient information to identify and meet specific patient needs, which may include physical and mental limitations, current emotional and physiological status regarding the testing procedure, and pertinent medical and social history. This information is essential for determining final testing parameters and procedures in collaboration with the ordering physician or Medical Director, adhering to department protocols. In addition to technical skills, the Neuro Diagnostic Technician is expected to demonstrate positive interpersonal relations with co-workers and physicians to promote efficiency and quality patient care. Maintaining current CPR or Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification is mandatory. The technician must comply with applicable laws, regulations, guidelines, and standards regarding safety and infection control issues. They are responsible for ensuring safe practices as referenced in the National Patient Safety Goals and supporting safe practices recommended by the National Quality Forum. The technician will also recommend and participate in resource changes that support cost containment and waste reduction, utilizing Riverside Medical Group (RMG) standards of customer excellence to anticipate, meet, and exceed patient needs. The role includes following procedural protocols to ensure the collection of appropriate data, performing data acquisition while monitoring study-tracing quality to ensure signals are artifact-free, and making necessary adjustments. The technician will oversee and perform difficult and unusual procedures and therapeutic interventions, demonstrating the knowledge and skills necessary to provide age-specific care in the treatment, assessment, and education of adult and geriatric patients. Responsibilities also include reviewing patient history, physician information, medications, procedure requests, and study protocols, as well as performing appropriate physiological calibrations to ensure proper signals and making adjustments as necessary.
