About the position

The Emerging Store Manager at Walgreens is responsible for supervising customer service associates and managing the front end of the store. This role supports the Store Manager in achieving operational goals and enhancing customer experience while ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations. The position involves leading a team, managing store operations, and driving sales and profitability through effective performance management and customer engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise customer service associates and designated hitters.
  • Manage front end of the store and make recommendations on overall operations.
  • Support Store Manager with overall store operations to achieve company deliverables.
  • Engage customers and resolve complaints to ensure a positive experience.
  • Monitor customer service metrics and provide coaching and training to team members.
  • Supervise daily store operations, including task delegation and scheduling.
  • Collaborate with external partners for community outreach opportunities.
  • Analyze financial and performance data to create action plans for business deliverables.
  • Lead and train team members, providing mentoring and support for career development.
  • Communicate regularly with team members to ensure open communication.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with a solid academic record, all majors welcome OR satisfactorily completed a Walgreens Community Internship Program OR High School Diploma/GED and two years of experience in a supervisory position.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities including professional business ethics, self-motivation, and strong communication skills.
  • Completion of Store Manager training program (LEAP) or willingness to complete Walgreens Leadership Essentials training within 12 weeks of ESM start date.
  • Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
  • Willingness to work flexible schedule including extended days, evenings, and weekend hours.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's Degree (preferred).
  • Management experience, including supervising others, managing, and assigning work (for internal candidates).
  • Prior retail or food industry experience (for external candidates).
