The Emerging Store Manager supervises customer service associates and designated hitters, and is responsible for managing the front end of the store while making recommendations on the overall operations of the Pharmacy and Retail Store. This role supports the Store Manager with the overall operation of the store to achieve company deliverables, works an alternate schedule with minimal overlap, and assumes responsibilities for all store activities in the absence of the Store Manager. Key responsibilities include ensuring proper merchandising, protecting store assets, and improving store sales and profitability. The Emerging Store Manager leads and manages store team members, covering recruitment, hiring, performance management, and discipline to ensure teams are engaged and performing effectively. In terms of customer experience, the manager engages customers and patients, resolves complaints, answers questions, and models/shares best practices. They monitor customer service, provide coaching and training, and develop improvement plans for both the front-end and pharmacy, aiming to exceed customer expectations and build loyalty. The role is accountable for improving overall customer service metrics. Operationally, the manager supervises store activities and team members, including assigning tasks, delegating, managing shifts, approving time records, and handling scheduling conflicts. They collaborate with external partners, identify community outreach opportunities, and support the Store Manager in data-driven decision-making. Cash management, including register counts, bank transactions, and bookkeeping, falls under their supervision. They also oversee front-end and pharmacy inventory, conduct resets, analyze trends, and train team members on inventory procedures. The manager ensures operational feedback is executed, maintains store cleanliness, manages repairs, responds to emergencies, and ensures team members are proficient with technology systems. They are responsible for team member safety and compliance with all company policies and regulations. For business performance, the manager independently analyzes financial and performance data, creates action plans, and uses KPIs to drive store improvement. They collaborate with the Store Manager to identify sales opportunities and support the Pharmacy during busy periods, potentially serving as a pharmacy technician. In people and performance management, they lead, train, mentor, and coach team members for career development, handle discipline, and make recommendations on performance management. They manage team performance through goal setting, feedback, and recognition, and are responsible for talent acquisition, building pipelines, and ensuring a diverse workforce. The manager anticipates staffing needs, participates in interviews, makes hiring decisions, and ensures compliance with recruitment procedures. They establish a culture of accountability through clear expectations and performance management. Finally, the role requires successful completion of a Store Manager learning and development program, all required courses and certifications, and continuous self-development with an Individual Development Plan. Obtaining and maintaining a valid pharmacy technician license is also required. Communication with team members through one-on-one discussions and group meetings is essential, as is assisting the Store Manager in planning and communicating company and store strategy.
