The Emerging Executive Leaders & Aspiring Superintendent's Academy engages participants in topics aligned with the following broad topics: Framing the Superintendency: Vision, Change, and Ethical Purpose, - Governance, Politics, Communications, and Community Engagement, Strategic Systems Leadership: Finance, Operations, & Continuous Improvement, and Hot Topics. This academy seeks to identify, cultivate, and prepare the next generation of executive-level leaders and future superintendents within Calvert County Public Schools and the surrounding region. Participants will complete a capstone project focused on one real or simulated system challenge. A high-level overview of the content is addressed below: Understand the evolving role of the superintendent as moral and instructional leader. Analyze case studies of district transformation. Develop a personal leadership identity statement Clarify governance structures and superintendent-board roles. Build political acumen and stakeholder communication skills. Explore real-world board relations and community engagement strategies. Link fiscal strategy to instructional priorities. Understand the superintendent's role in operations and performance management. Practice data-driven decision-making. Engage in discussion around emerging and urgent leadership issues.
