About The Position

VCA Advanced Veterinary Care Center is growing our Emergency and Critical Care Team and seeking a Registered Veterinary Technician to be a part of our dynamic team. Financial growth opportunities available. Shift Differential: A shift differential is offered to associates who work between certain hours. Shift: Full-time opportunities, we are seeking Swing/Evening, 2 pm - 12 am. Responsibilities

Perform an initial assessment to evaluate the patient's condition quickly. This includes checking vital signs, assessing for obvious injuries or distress, and gathering information from the pet owner about the situation.
Collaborate closely with veterinarians to assist in exams, treatments, and medical procedures for emergency cases.
Proficiently perform venipuncture, intravenous catheter placement, and grow your advanced vascular access techniques
Safely and accurately administer fluids, medications, and other treatments as prescribed by veterinarians.
Work in conjunction with all technical staff across the hospital to ensure hospitalized patients receive optimal care. Maintain open communication with the healthcare team.
Vigilantly monitor hospitalized patients, identifying subtle changes in their clinical status. Participate in departmental rounds and manage the maintenance of urinary catheters, nasogastric tubes, chest and abdominal tubes, as well as nasal oxygen tubes.
Provide clear and concise discharge instructions to clients, ensuring they understand the care their furry family member requires after leaving the hospital.
Prepare patients for procedures and monitor anesthesia to ensure patient safety.
Operate diagnostic imaging equipment and assist in capturing radiographs and other diagnostic images.
Run diagnostics, correlate results with the clinical presentation of the patient and notify Veterinarian of results.
Including collection, administration, and transfusion reactions.
Flow-by Oxygen, Nasal Oxygen Cannula, or Oxygen Cage.
