About The Position

WVRC - has three hospital locations: Waukesha, Racine and Grafton all dedicated to providing patients, clients, and referring veterinarians the highest quality emergency and specialty veterinary medical care. WVRC offers a warm, friendly atmosphere where our main goal is to provide compassionate care to our patients and clients as well as offering outstanding customer service. WVRC Waukesha is looking for a Veterinary Technician Assistant to support our Emergency department! The Veterinary Technician Assistant provides key support to the technician and veterinarian staff. Must be friendly, professional and courteous, and capable of handling several tasks at once with frequent interruptions. Must be able to take direction from multiple staff members while adhering to training standards. Schedule and Compensation: This position is for second shift Four 9-10 hour shifts each week, including every other weekend 4 Holidays per year Pay starts at $16 an hour and may be higher depending on experience Essential Functions: Multi-tasking and attention to detail skills are required. Must have the ability to stand for the majority of the work period and enough stamina to work past the regularly scheduled shifts, if needed.

Requirements

• Must have worked or volunteered working with dogs and cats at a clinic, Humane Society, Kennel, or similar
• Able to work in a highly collaborative environment and commitment to develop long-term relationships with colleagues, clients, and community
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Positive outlook, a passion for providing the highest quality in patient care and the ability to deliver exceptional client service.

Responsibilities

• Restraining of patients
• Cleaning Kennels, Floors, etc.
• Stocking the treatment areas
• Laundry
• Taking patients outside
• Feeding patients
