About The Position

The Emergency Vehicle Maintenance Technician (EVT) is responsible for performing skilled mechanical work and repairs on emergency vehicles and equipment, ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards. This role involves diagnosing mechanical issues, conducting repairs, and maintaining high-quality service in accordance with NFPA standards and other regulations. The technician will work in a shop environment and may also be required to work outdoors under various climatic conditions.

Requirements

• One to three years' experience in emergency equipment maintenance at the journeyman level.
• EVT F1-F3 Fire Pumps and Accessories certification is the minimum requirement; ASE requirements that correspond to EVT level 1 preferred.
• CDL is required for this position.
• Must possess and continuously maintain a current State of Colorado Driver's License prior to start date or by 30 days after employment.

Nice To Haves

• Emergency Vehicle Technician (EVT) F1-F3 certification to work on Emergency Vehicle Equipment maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose mechanical problems and determine required repair procedures for emergency vehicle equipment systems.
• Perform a full range of overhaul, repair, and service on emergency vehicle equipment systems.
• Ensure quality of work and proper use of tools and materials according to standards and requirements.
• Analyze malfunctions and perform services on emergency vehicles such as fire trucks and ladder trucks.
• Troubleshoot, repair, and rebuild fire truck pump systems, including engine and transmission diagnostics.
• Perform diversified electrical work and troubleshoot electrical problems on emergency vehicle apparatuses.
• Conduct initial, in-process, and final inspections of work orders.
• Ensure proper utilization of equipment and supplies.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor or Lead mechanic.
