About The Position
The Emergency Vehicle Operator (EVO) at WLRC Medical in Silver Spring, MD, plays a crucial role in the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) team, providing essential support to Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) during non-emergent medical transports. Under the supervision of the Butler Medical Transport/Best Care Ambulance Leadership team, the EVO is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient transport of patients to medical facilities. This position requires a compassionate individual who can think quickly and work collaboratively within a team to deliver timely and effective pre-hospital care. The EVO will assist their EMT partner by moving patients to and from the ambulance stretcher, loading the stretcher into the ambulance, and ensuring that the transport is conducted smoothly, avoiding any sudden motions that could be detrimental to the patients. The role demands strict adherence to all policies and procedures, as well as compliance with state and federal regulations governing emergency medical transport. The EVO is also responsible for maintaining the readiness of vehicles and equipment, cleaning and maintaining equipment, and performing other duties as assigned.
