Responsible to receive, coordinate, and provide timely notification of emergent and non-emergent medical transport requests (rotor, fixed wing, ground). The Communication Specialist is responsible for accurately documenting all transport vehicle activity and times within the CAD system. In addition, the Communication Specialist is also responsible for following the aircraft and ambulances by means of satellite tracking devices and initiating emergency action plans in the event of an incident/accident. May also prepare and provide price quotes for non-emergent air or ground medical transport and coordinate all aspects of those transports. The Communication Specialist may also be asked to assist with Physician Connect transfer center requests and ensure that patient transfers are facilitated within a timely manner. It is imperative that the Communication Specialist maintain positive professional relationships with customers, health care facilities, EMS, and other air medical transport providers. Individuals must be organized, adapt to multi-tasking, and have excellent communication skills.
