To become a Mead School District Emergency Substitute Teacher you must have a Bachelor of Arts or a Bachelor of Science degree, be willing to complete substitute teacher training and obtain an Emergency Substitute Certificate from the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction. The Emergency Substitute Certificate enables someone who is not fully qualified for a regular teaching certificate to serve as a substitute teacher. The certificate is valid for up to two years. Emergency Substitutes work on an on-call basis. Facilitate student success in academic and interpersonal skills through implementing District approved curriculum and providing a safe and optimal learning environment.
