About The Position

As our Emergency Department Patient Care Technician (PCT) at Dignity Health Yavapai Regional Medical Center you’ll be the first touchpoint to the people in our community during health emergencies. No two days in emergency services are ever the same. You’re a multitasker who can react quickly as you’ll prioritize patients based on their medical necessity. As an Emergency Department Technician, you will deliver patient care and perform clinical procedures within the scope of your licensure under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and Provider.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Completion of nursing assistant program, or EMT program, or completion of first block of nursing program
• Minimum 6 months experience as an NA or ED Tech with direct patient care, or previous military medic experience
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support Certification
• IV Training course completion within 90 days of hire
• EKG Class completion and demonstration within 90 days of hire
• Six (6) successful adult IV insertions performed under the supervision of an RN within 6 months of hire

Nice To Haves

• Certified Nursing Assistant License: AZ (CNA:AZ)
• Licensed Nursing Assistant: AZ (LNA:AZ)
• Emergency Medical Technician: AZ (EMT:AZ)
• One year of prehospital or Emergency Department experience

Responsibilities

• Assisting with observation of patients, gathering data, and identifying patient care needs
• Responding to emergency situations
• Assisting with patient transport and transfer
• Assisting with cleaning, stocking, and maintenance of department equipment and supplies
• Assisting with clerical and communication tasks to support patient care
