Responsibilities The Emergency Services Technician plays a vital role as part of the healthcare team, assisting the Licensed Independent Practitioner (L.I.P.), Registered Nurse (R.N.), and Unit Secretary. This position is essential to the team-based approach to patient care and supports the efficient and effective flow of patients through the Emergency Department.

Requirements

  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: Previous patient care experience in an Emergency environment and/or with children strongly preferred
  • Skills: Basic medical terminology. Computer familiarity. Able to work in a fast-paced environment with ability to prioritize multiple assignments.
  • Licensure Current American Heart Association BLS for Provider certification required.

Nice To Haves

  • CNA, MA or EMT preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Patient Care Provides direct patient care to newborns, children, adults, and geriatric patients under the supervision and delegation of a Registered Nurse.
  • Communication Demonstrates effective and professional communication with patients, visitors, EMS personnel, and hospital staff.
  • Environmental Duties Maintains responsibility and accountability for the cleanliness, maintenance, and safety of unit equipment and supplies.
  • Education & Competency Maintains an active, working knowledge of the Credentialing Competencies required for Emergency Services Technicians.
  • Professional Behavior Consistently demonstrates professionalism in both appearance and conduct.
