About The Position

Career Development / Emergency Services Teacher .8 FTE Effective Date of Employment: Beginning of the 2026-27 school year Job Summary: Teach curriculum of Independent School District 196 for the following classes: Teach Emergency Medical Services Trimester 1 Teach Introduction to Law Enforcement Trimester 2 Teach Introduction to Fire Fighting Trimester 3 Teach Advanced Emergency Services Trimester 3 Carry out responsibilities as defined by the master contract. Carry out responsibilities as defined by the principal. Maintain good communication and cooperation with staff and parents.

Requirements

• Licensed by the State of Minnesota to teach Emergency Medical Services with a license in Medical Careers (300300) or Emergency Medical Technician (070907) or eligible for a community expert variance.
• Certification to teach CPR
• Has Emergency Medical Response Certification and is able to prepare learners for the Emergency Medical Response certification.
• Able to prepare learners for the EMT national certification exams.
• Able to teach an introductory course to learners about the science of fires and fire fighting.
• Able to teach an introductory course on public safety with respect to the security of one's home, workplace, and community.

• Demonstrated experience and proficiency working with a culturally, ethnically, racially and socioeconomically diverse school community is preferred.
