About The Position
The Emergency Services Representative is an ideal intermediate level opportunity responsible for the clerical aspects of Emergency Department operations. If you are a service-oriented individual with the ability to respond to patients and families with sympathy, respect, and understanding, this could be a perfect position for you.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent preferred
- Completion of Unit Secretary (Unit Coordinator) vocational training course preferred
- One (1) year of previous patient care or currently enrolled in clinical education program preferred
- One (1) year of equivalent clerical experience in a medical setting preferred
Responsibilities
- Provide support through patient registration, clinical order processing, medical record maintenance, entry, financial counseling, and fee collections
- Serve as the focal point for department communications and as a resource for patients and families
- Perform in accordance with infection control procedures and patient care unit standards
- Regularly utilize independent decision-making capacities and strong interpersonal skills
