About The Position

The Emergency Services Associate at Mosaic Life Care plays a crucial role in the Emergency Department by providing direct patient care under the supervision of nursing and medical staff. Requirements

• High School Diploma required.
• Completion of an Unlicensed Assistive Personnel (UAP) training program in the last three years, or a fundamentals of nursing course, or a certified nursing assistant program with certification (C.N.A.), or a graduate of a professional or practical nursing program who did not pass the state licensure examination in the past three years, or a graduate of a professional or practical nursing program outside the United States and awaiting licensure in this country.
• BCLS - Basic Life Support certification within 90 days required.
• Documented experience working for one year as a nurse assistant in an inpatient setting, emergency medical technician or surgical tech in the past three years is required.

Nice To Haves

• 1 year of Emergency Department experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Transports patients to rooms as appropriate.
• Assists with patient disrobing, takes vital signs and pulse oximetry, applies cardiac monitors.
• Transports patients and families to other departments and units as designated.
• Collects and transports patient specimens including blood, urine, stool and sputum samples.
• Performs point of care testing including quality controls and instrument maintenance.
• Performs EKG's and uploads into EMR.
• Performs simple wound care and assists with suturing, epistaxis control, applying casts and splinting.
• Other duties as assigned.
