Emergency Room Technician
About The Position
Are you passionate about helping others in a fast-paced environment? Boone Memorial Hospital is seeking a dedicated Emergency Room Technician to support our Emergency Department team and play a vital role in patient care and departmental efficiency. Essential Functions As an ER Technician, you will: Safely transport patients throughout the Emergency Department and hospital Assist with patient transfers between beds, stretchers, wheelchairs, and vehicles Support clinical staff by obtaining vital signs and assisting with EKG procedures Transport laboratory specimens and essential equipment Ensure transport equipment is clean, functional, and safe for use Provide compassionate support to patients and their families Help maintain efficient patient flow in a fast-paced environment
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous healthcare or Emergency Department experience preferred
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to remain calm and focused in high-pressure situations
- Commitment to patient care and safety
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 90 days of hire
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Frequent lifting, pushing, and pulling of patients and equipment
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds (with assistance when needed)
- Frequent bending, reaching, and transferring of patients
- Fast-paced Emergency Department setting
- Exposure to infectious diseases and medical conditions
- Interaction with patients experiencing illness, injury, or emotional distress
- Frequent interruptions and urgent care needs
Nice To Haves
- Previous healthcare or Emergency Department experience preferred
