About the position

Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) is recruiting for Emergency Room Technicians who perform a variety of patient care functions; assisting physicians, registered nurses and other health specialists with a variety of procedures and treatments, cardiac monitoring and electrocardiograms, splinting, collecting specimens, performing blood withdrawal and clerical tasks. Located on a beautiful 70-acre campus in Colton, California (50 miles east of Los Angeles), ARMC is a state-of-the-art, public/nonprofit, 456-bed, university affiliated teaching hospital licensed by the State of California Department of Public Health and accredited by The Joint Commission. The hospital houses a regional burn center serving four counties (San Bernardino, Riverside, Mono and Inyo), a comprehensive stroke center, level I trauma center and a freestanding in-patient behavioral health center. Additionally, ARMC operates five community-based, primary care clinics and over 40 specialty care outpatient services. ARMC is the primary teaching hospital for the adjacently located California University of Science and Medicine (CUSM), the Inland Empire's newest medical school.

Responsibilities

  • Assist physicians, registered nurses, and other health specialists with various procedures and treatments.
  • Perform cardiac monitoring and electrocardiograms.
  • Conduct splinting and collect specimens.
  • Perform blood withdrawal and clerical tasks.

Requirements

  • Current/valid Emergency Medical Technician (EMT-1) certification OR paramedic license issued by the State of California.
  • Current/valid Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS).
  • Six (6) months of full-time experience as an Emergency Room Technician in an acute care hospital OR as field personnel providing emergency medical services OR as an EMT/Paramedic for a firefighting agency.
  • Completion of Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) training within six (6) months of hire.
  • Completion of a State of California Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT-1 or CPT-2) license within six (6) months of hire.

Nice-to-haves

  • Fluency in American Sign Language, Arabic, Korean, Mandarin, Spanish, and/or Vietnamese.
