About The Position

As an Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) working the day or mid shifts, you will play a critical role in delivering immediate and high-quality care to patients experiencing urgent and life-threatening conditions. Your primary objective is to assess, triage, and stabilize patients efficiently while collaborating closely with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare professionals. You will manage a diverse patient population with varying degrees of medical emergencies, ensuring that each individual receives compassionate and evidence-based nursing care. This role demands quick decision-making, excellent clinical judgment, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. Ultimately, your work will directly impact patient outcomes and contribute to the overall success of the emergency department and hospital system.

Requirements

  • Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Oklahoma.
  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • At least one year of clinical nursing experience, preferably in an acute care or emergency setting.
  • Strong knowledge of emergency nursing principles, patient assessment, and clinical procedures.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.

Responsibilities

  • Assesses and diagnoses patient and family needs to provide quality care to patients.
  • Administer medications, treatments, and interventions as prescribed by physicians, while continuously monitoring patient responses.
  • Identifies and documents nursing diagnosis on the patient’s plan of care.
  • Document all patient care activities, observations, and communications thoroughly and accurately in electronic health records.
  • Plan of care will include nursing diagnosis statement, 24-hour outcomes, and discharge outcomes for each identified problem.
  • Maintain readiness to respond to codes and emergency situations, including performing advanced life support measures when necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements to maintain a safe care environment.
