About The Position

Emergency Department Manager reports to the ED Director and is responsible for staffing, planning and development for the Emergency Department. Provides leadership, guidance, professional development and assistance to ED staff. Collaborates with Medical Staff and other departments to ensure safe, quality, and compassionate care for positive patient outcomes.

• BSN
• ACLS Instructor Certification - Sarah Bush Lincoln
• Basic Trauma Life Support Certification - Sarah Bush Lincoln
• BLS or CPR certification within 90 days of hire. - Sarah Bush Lincoln
• PALS must be completed within 1 year - Sarah Bush Lincoln
• RN-Registered Nurse - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with the Emergency Services Director to ensure consistent compliance with Joint Commission standards, Illinois Department of Public Health and other appropriate regulatory agency standards

• Provides annual competency assessments and performance review process
• Provides patient care as a Registered Nurse performing all duties of an Emergency Department Nurse.
• Responsible for development, implementation, and evaluation of departmental policies, procedures, protocols and standards to maintain a high quality level of service.
• Safety Advocate: Ensures a safe environment and practices for patients and employees. Establishes an environment that encourages reporting of safety events. Supports and promotes a culture of reliability to speak up for safety. Encourages safety survey participation and develops improvement plans based on results.
