About The Position

We are seeking a results-driven Emergency Room Manager to lead daily operations within a high-volume acute care Emergency Department. This role is responsible for clinical leadership, staff development, throughput performance, and regulatory compliance while maintaining a strong, visible presence on the unit. This position is ideal for an Emergency Department leader who is hands-on, confident navigating complex team dynamics, and motivated to advance into a future Director-level role.

Requirements

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or related field
  • 3+ years of recent acute care Emergency Department leadership experience
  • Charge Nurse experience in the ED will be considered
  • Strong ICU Charge Nurse experience may be considered
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) – required within 60 days
  • NIH Stroke Scale – required within 90 days
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) – required within 90 days
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) or Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses (ATCN) – required within 6 months

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day operations of a 24/7 Emergency Department
  • Lead staffing, scheduling, productivity, and patient flow initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and quality standards
  • Support trauma and stroke program requirements and readiness
  • Coach, mentor, and evaluate nursing leadership and frontline staff
  • Lead performance improvement, patient satisfaction, and safety initiatives
  • Maintain strong engagement through rounding, including occasional night shift presence
  • Collaborate with nursing leadership, physicians, and interdisciplinary partners
  • Serve as a clinical resource and step into patient care as needed
