As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the Emergency Department , you will provide high-quality care to patients with varied and complex health conditions. Working under the supervision of registered nurses and physicians, you will play a crucial role in the fast-paced emergency environment. Requirements

  • Current and valid state license.
  • Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
  • IV certification upon hire (state specific).

Nice To Haves

  • A current ACLS certificate is preferred or within 120 days of hire.
  • A current PALS certificate is preferred or within 120 days of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct initial assessments of patients' conditions and triage patients based on medical need and urgency.
  • Accurately monitor and record patients' vital signs, including heart rate, blood pressure, temperature, and oxygen saturation.
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments as directed by physicians and/or RNs. Monitor patients for side effects and adverse reactions.
  • Perform wound care, bandaging, and dressing changes as necessary.
  • Initiate and manage IV therapy as instructed by the healthcare team.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate electronic health records, documenting all aspects of patient care.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team, providing updates and explanations as required.
  • Assist with procedures, support families in crisis, and provide emotional support to patients and their loved ones.
  • Participate in emergency procedures, including cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), as necessary.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
