About The Position

The Emergency Room (ER) Registered Nurse (RN) at Johnston-Willis Hospital plays a crucial role in providing immediate and skilled care to patients in a fast-paced environment. Requirements

• Current RN License in the Commonwealth of Virginia or Compact license.
• Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred.
• 1 year of nursing experience, preferably in Emergency services.
• ACLS Certification must be obtained within 60 days of employment start date.
• BLS Certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention training must be obtained within 60 days of employment start date.
• PALS Certification must be obtained within 60 days of employment start date.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in a Level III Trauma Center.
• Advanced nursing certifications.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct, fast, skilled care to patients in the Emergency Department.
• Administer prescribed medications and monitor vital signs.
• Change dressings and clean wounds as necessary.
• Utilize computerized documentation systems to record and communicate patient conditions.
• Coordinate discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
• Serve as the primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
