Provides professional nursing care to patients utilizing established policies and procedures ensuring safe and effective care; provides age appropriate care from infant through the geriatric patient based on the population served; assesses, plans, implements and evaluates care in collaboration with the multidisciplinary care team; demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to Identify and meet the individual needs of all patients served.

  • Accurately assesses and documents patient and family needs in order to provide quality care to assigned patients and ensures integration of information among the multi-disciplinary health care team.
  • Demonstrates timely, accurate and complete EHR and/or paper documentation in accordance with specific unit standards.
  • Completes patient documentation per 'Nursing Documentation' policy.
  • Administers medications and performs medication reconciliation.
  • Completes discharge planning and education for disease process, medications, DME's, and follow-up care.
  • Uses SBAR communication to notify physician of changes in patient status.
  • Performs consistent, purposeful hourly rounding.
  • Demonstrates the skills and judgment necessary to implement medical plan of care, nursing interventions, and procedures as necessary for the care of the patient.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of hospital policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of commonly used medications: action, dose, and side effects.
  • Initiates and maintains IV access according to hospital policy and procedures.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and skill in nursing management of emergency situations.
  • Completes crash cart checks and documentation as requested by Charge RN.
  • Minimum of an Associate’s Degree in Nursing.
  • Graduated from Nursing school within the last 12 months.
  • Nevada Interim Permit (IP) required.
  • BLS for Healthcare Providers required.
  • ACLS may be obtained within 90 days of hire.
  • Professional customer service skills.
  • Ability to read and communicate in English; bilingual abilities preferred.
