Emergency Response Officer (Armed Guard - Part Time) Assignment: Part Time / Weekdays (No Weekends) Compensation: $45/hour Non-Union Hours: 8:30am - 6:30pm Officer 1: Mon, Tues, Wed (30 hours) Officer 2: Thurs, Fri (20 hours) Key Responsibilities Security Enforcement: Deter potential threats, including active shooter situations, by maintaining a vigilant, multi-layered security presence Enforce rules and regulations in the public plaza and lobby areas, including non-smoking zones Conduct regular post inspections and remain alert to suspicious persons or activities Prevent unlawfulness, acts of violence, or damage to property Threat Mitigation: Identify and mitigate potential threats to the property or visitors Immediately report facility concerns or hazards to the Security Operations Center and the Site Director Coordinate closely with the NYPD and other federal/local agencies as needed Public Interaction: Provide professional and courteous service to tenants, visitors, and VIPs Engage and notify individuals who violate site rules or regulations Assist with VIP escorts and special events, ensuring smooth coordination with appropriate agencies or departments Operational Flexibility: Adapt to schedule changes and occasional overtime based on operational demands Collaboration: Work closely with local law enforcement and serve as a liaison for federal and city agencies Provide detailed incident reports and maintain open communication with the Site Supervisor Qualifications: Mandatory: Prior law enforcement experience - minimum 5 years, ESU experience a plus, military experience a plus Must possess a valid NYS Armed Security Guard License, including: 8-hour pre-assignment training 8-hour annual certification 16-hour on-the-job training Must possess own licensed firearm High school diploma or equivalent required Strong knowledge of security protocols and threat mitigation strategies Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Must be able to stand for 8-12 consecutive hours Interview Process: Initial interview with company representatives Approval by Site Supervisor Final interview with the client Reporting Structure: The Emergency Response Officer reports directly to the Site Director and will occasionally provide direction to other security officers based on situational needs Why Join Alliance Security?
