About The Position

The Emergency Response Consultant at Montrose Environmental Group Inc. plays a crucial role in supporting the Toxicology Emergency Response Program (TERP) and Environmental Response Program during emergency situations and environmental remediation projects. This position involves collaboration with clients, regulators, and internal teams to develop tailored solutions for various environmental challenges, requiring a diverse skill set in project management, safety, and industrial hygiene.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science or Master's degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Biology, Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Emergency Management, or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of related field experience.
  • Advanced computer skills in a Windows-based platform.
  • Significant project management experience, preferably in emergency response.
  • Must have OSHA 40 Hour HAZWOPER certification and current 8-hour annual certification.

Nice To Haves

  • Specialized credentials such as CHMM, REM, ASP, CSP, CIH, PMP, PG, PE.

Responsibilities

  • Support TERP, Environmental Response Program, and other CTEH Programs on emergency response and traditional environmental remediation projects.
  • Serve as the primary on-call project manager and respond to multiple projects across all service lines.
  • Promote CTEH's safety culture and maintain a high level of safety awareness.
  • Act as the primary CTEH representative to on-site client and agency representatives.
  • Assume key environmental or safety roles during responses and exercises, coordinating closely with client and agency personnel.
  • Review and interpret collected scientific data (i.e., air, soil, water Laboratory results to standards/screening levels).
  • Prepare client and regulatory agency report submissions with strong written communication skills.
  • Coordinate with TERP, Data Managers, and Quality Department to ensure timely and high-quality data deliverables.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of CTEH's Environmental Response Program.
  • Stay updated with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the environmental, industrial hygiene, and project management fields.
  • Support internal preparedness or environmental responses, including training and equipment needs identification.
  • Provide training and technical consulting to clients relative to expertise.
  • Support all levels of the Emergency Response Department to ensure staffing, training, and readiness for responses.
  • Interpret large data sets to achieve regulatory cleanup goals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
