About The Position

Strategic Security Corp. is currently seeking Armed Security Officers for an Emergency Response assignment throughout the state of Vermont. The ideal candidates will be available on a per diem basis, as assignments become available. Candidates must possess an Armed Security License for any State and a Firearms Permit if applicable for the State. Strategic Security (SSC) is a nationwide leading provider of emergency response services for natural disasters and civil unrest. The Armed Emergency Response Security Officer positions are available for fixed posts to support our national contracts with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and various commercial clients, including cellular companies, automotive retail, quick service retail, and national grocers. The primary goal is to establish an omnipresent security presence to deter potential criminal activity and misconduct while safeguarding employees and customers. In addition to providing physical security, this role will participate in SSC's G.E.T. principles: Greet, Engage, and Thank individuals for their business or patronizing the location. Responsibilities include welcoming guests, victims, associates, employees, and tenants in a warm, gracious manner, engaging proactively by scanning for potential threats stemming from criminal activity or life safety issues, and monitoring for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards. The officer will also be responsible for sounding alarms or calling the police or fire department in case of emergencies, identifying and warning violators of rule infractions, permitting only authorized persons to enter property, and monitoring entrances and exits. The role may require the use of handheld wands or walk-through magnetometers to deter theft of company property and to liaise with local law enforcement. Additional duties include assisting with basic first aid when necessary, making emergency notifications, and performing security patrols of designated areas on foot or in a vehicle as directed by a supervisor. Assignments may vary based on the need and conditions of emergency or client requests at each facility. The compensation structure includes hourly pay, lodging, per diem, and travel time provided in accordance with U.S. Government Guidelines if traveling over 50 miles to the job site. Time and a half pay is offered for hours worked over 40 in a week, and many emergency response positions can transition into full-time roles, with first right of refusal given to the Strategic Emergency Response Armed Security Officer.
