Great Lakes Inter-Tribal Council is a non-profit organization formed by the Native American Tribes of Wisconsin. We serve all WI tribes by providing administration of grant-funded programs either directly or with sub grants. Programs range from Child and Maternal services to Education to Disability and Elder benefits. Our Mission is: To Enhance the Quality of Life for all Native People. The Emergency Preparedness Specialist, under general direction and supervision from the Program Director, coordinates plan, organize, and administer Public Health Emergency Preparedness activities, including pre-emergency planning, emergency response activities, and post-emergency functions. In addition, this position coordinates and directs the development of presentations to tribal Leadership, the public, schools, community groups and organizations relevant to Tribal health preparedness planning and response for the Bemidji Area Tribes served by GLITEC, Serves on Incident Management Teams during disasters/emergencies as needed.
