Liberty University Emergency Management Planners serve as key members of the Emergency Management Team. The Emergency Management Planner assists the Senior Emergency Management Planner with the Liberty University All Hazard Emergency Management Program. Specifically, the Emergency Management Planner is responsible for technical and administrative duties that help support the development of strategic plans and program documents such as emergency action plans, policies and procedures, drawing upon technical insight and understanding in related technical disciplines. The Emergency Management Planner must be able to act independently or as a member of a team to develop strategic and operational plans, functional and incident specific plans, guidance, policies, and job aides. The Emergency Management Planner will also facilitate planning meetings, workshops, and seminars for the purposes of educating the Liberty University community. The Emergency Management Planner is tasked with the planning and administration of programs to protect the Liberty University population, protect Liberty University resources, minimize the effects of disasters, and preserve the continuity of Liberty University operations. The Emergency Management Planner will have extensive knowledge of local, state and federal laws and regulations regarding emergency services, disaster response, recovery and mitigation as well as extensive knowledge of planning, development, implementation and assessment of emergency management programs and response strategies relative to both natural and manmade disasters.
