JOB OVERVIEW • Job Title: Emergency Medicine Physician • Job Type: Locum Tenens • Location: La Grange, KY • Service Setting: Inpatient/Outpatient • Coverage Type: Clinical Only • Coverage Period: May 4, 2026 – Ongoing • Clinical Shift Schedule: Day shifts 7:00a – 7:00p; Night shifts 7:00p – 7:00a COVERAGE DATES • Start Date: May 4, 2026 • Ongoing coverage required PATIENT INFORMATION • Patient Demographics: All ages • Patient Volume/Census: Approximately 42 patients per day; annual volume approximately 15,000 • Admissions: Yes, as clinically appropriate • Phone Consults: As clinically appropriate • Case Mix: General emergency medicine FACILITY INFORMATION • No. of Beds in Department: 14 ED beds • EMR System: Epic • Office Equipment Available: Fully equipped emergency department • Specialty Backup Available: Most subspecialties available except interventional radiology, ophthalmology, ENT, pediatrics, neurosurgery, cardiothoracic surgery, and dialysis services • Support Staff Available: Advanced Practice Clinician support Monday–Saturday, 12:00p – 8:00p • Reason for Coverage: Supplemental coverage PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE • Hospital Privileges Required: Yes • Temporary Privileges Available: Potentially available COMPENSATION & BENEFITS • Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered REQUIRED PROCEDURES • Standard emergency medicine procedures • Airway management and resuscitation • Trauma stabilization and emergency interventions JOB REQUIREMENTS • Licenses: Active Kentucky medical license required • Board: Board Certified in Emergency Medicine (ABEM required) • DEA: Active Kentucky DEA required • Certifications: As required for emergency medicine practice • Experience: Prior emergency medicine experience preferred • Other Qualifications: Proficiency with Epic EMR preferred DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES • Provide emergency medical care to patients presenting to the emergency department • Evaluate, diagnose, and treat acute and chronic medical conditions • Perform emergency procedures as clinically indicated • Collaborate with nursing staff, APCs, and consulting specialists • Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation in the EMR system
Requirements
- Active Kentucky medical license required
- Board Certified in Emergency Medicine (ABEM required)
- Active Kentucky DEA required
- As required for emergency medicine practice
- Standard emergency medicine procedures
- Airway management and resuscitation
- Trauma stabilization and emergency interventions
Nice To Haves
- Prior emergency medicine experience preferred
- Proficiency with Epic EMR preferred
