JOB OVERVIEW • Job Title: Physician – Emergency Medicine • Job Type: Locum Tenens • Location: Lindale, TX • Service Setting: Hospital • Coverage Type: Clinical Only • Coverage Period: February 2026 – Ongoing • Clinical Shift Schedule: 6a–6p & 6p–6a daily COVERAGE DATES • February 2026 – Ongoing • Minimum 5 shifts per month accepted PATIENT INFORMATION • Patient Demographics: Adults; occasional pediatrics • Patient Volume/Census: Approximately 60 patients per day • Admissions: 0% (all admissions transferred) • Rounding: Not included • Phone Consults: Not specified • Case Mix: General Emergency Medicine • EMS Percentage: 10–15% FACILITY INFORMATION • No. of Beds in Department: 16 ED beds • EMR System: Epic • Office Equipment Available: Standard ED equipment • Specialty Backup Available: None onsite; limited lab; 24/7 US and CT with reads; no blood products • Support Staff Available: NP/PA coverage varies by day • Reason for Coverage: Full time vacancy • Staffing Model: - 24 hrs/day MD coverage (6a–6p, 6p–6a) - NP/PA Schedule: Mon 8a–5p & 12p–9p; Tue–Fri 8a–8p; Sat–Sun 10a–8p • Annual ED Volume: About 21,705 visits per year • Scribe Coverage: None PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE • Hospital Privileges Required: Yes • Temporary Privileges Available: Possible (60+ day timeline) • Credentialing Timeline: 60+ days • Onboarding Requirements: 3–4 hr morning orientation, ED shadowing to total 12 hrs, Epic training prior (test-out available) COMPENSATION & BENEFITS • Rate: TBD • Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Paid travel provided REQUIRED PROCEDURES • Standard emergency medicine procedures • Ability to manage a higher-volume ED setting • Capability to handle all patient types presenting to ED JOB REQUIREMENTS • Licenses: Active Texas license required • Board: ABEM preferred; AOBEM, ABFM, ABIM with strong ED experience accepted; ABPS not accepted • DEA: Active DEA required • Certifications: EM BC requires proof of ATLS once; FM/IM trained requires ATLS, ACLS, PALS • Experience: Strong emergency medicine experience required • Other Qualifications: Epic proficiency preferred DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES • Provide emergency medical care in a high-volume ED setting • Manage approximately 60 patient encounters per day • Coordinate transfers for all admissions to main Christus Mother Frances campus • Perform required emergency medicine procedures • Complete all onboarding, orientation, and Epic workflow processes

Requirements

Active Texas license required
ABEM preferred; AOBEM, ABFM, ABIM with strong ED experience accepted; ABPS not accepted
Active DEA required
EM BC requires proof of ATLS once; FM/IM trained requires ATLS, ACLS, PALS
Strong emergency medicine experience required
Standard emergency medicine procedures
Ability to manage a higher-volume ED setting
Capability to handle all patient types presenting to ED
