Job Title: Emergency Medicine Physician Job Type: Locum Tenens Location: Paragould, AR Service Setting: Inpatient/Outpatient Coverage Type: Clinical Only Coverage Period: May 31, 2026 – Ongoing Clinical Shift Schedule: 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM and 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM Starting May 31, 2026 Ongoing assignment Flexible scheduling; must be available for both day and night shifts Patient Demographics: Adults and Pediatrics Patient Volume/Census: Approximately 24,500 annual ED visits Admissions: Yes Rounding: Included Phone Consults: Yes Case Mix: General Emergency Medicine No. of Beds in Department: 125 hospital beds; 13 ED beds Trauma Level: Level III EMR System: T -System Office Equipment Available: Standard ED equipment Specialty Backup Available: Yes Support Staff Available: NP/PA support (12:00 PM – 11:00 PM) Reason for Coverage: Supplemental coverage Hospital Privileges Required: Yes Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered per client policy Emergency medicine evaluations and management Stabilization and treatment of acute conditions Interpretation of diagnostic studies Coordination of care with inpatient and specialty teams
Requirements
- Active Arkansas medical license required
- Board Certification preferred; if not board certified, must have 2,500 ED hours in past 5 years
- Active Arkansas DEA required
- ACLS, BLS, PALS, ATLS required
- Emergency medicine experience required
- Must meet full credentialing and documentation requirements including CME logs, malpractice history, immunization records, and affiliations
Responsibilities
- Provide emergency medical care in a hospital setting
- Evaluate, diagnose, and manage acute patient conditions
- Collaborate with advanced practice providers and multidisciplinary teams
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the EMR system
- Ensure compliance with all clinical protocols and standards of care
