Job Title: Emergency Medicine Physician Job Type: Locum Tenens Location: Sioux City, IA Service Setting: Inpatient Coverage Type: Clinical Only Coverage Period: January 19, 2026 – Ongoing COVERAGE DATES Ongoing coverage beginning January 19, 2026 Open -ended assignment based on coverage needs PATIENT INFORMATION Patient Demographics: All ages Admissions: Yes Rounding: Included as part of emergency department coverage Phone Consults: As required Case Mix: Full -scope emergency medicine FACILITY INFORMATION Office Equipment Available: Standard emergency department equipment Specialty Backup Available: Physician and advanced practice provider support Support Staff Available: Nursing and ancillary staff Reason for Coverage: Supplemental coverage PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE Hospital Privileges Required: Yes Telehealth Experience Required: No COMPENSATION & BENEFITS Overtime: Daily OT after 12 hours and weekly OT after 168 hours, differential applied Callback Rates: Available per facility policy Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered per locum agreement REQUIRED PROCEDURES Emergency department procedures appropriate for physician -level emergency medicine coverage JOB REQUIREMENTS Licenses: Active Iowa medical license required Board: Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine DEA: Active DEA required Certifications: ACLS required; additional certifications per facility standards Experience: Prior emergency department experience required Other Qualifications: Ability to work flexible schedules as needed DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Provide comprehensive emergency medical care for patients of all ages Manage acute and emergent conditions in a hospital -based emergency department Perform emergency procedures and coordinate admissions as required Collaborate with emergency department staff and consulting services Document all patient encounters accurately in the facility EMR
Requirements
- Active Iowa medical license required
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine
- Active DEA required
- ACLS required; additional certifications per facility standards
- Prior emergency department experience required
- Ability to work flexible schedules as needed
