JOB OVERVIEW • Job Title: Emergency Medicine Physician • Job Type: Locum Tenens • Location: Lake Wales, FL • Service Setting: Inpatient/Outpatient • Coverage Type: Clinical Only • Coverage Period: April 1, 2026 – Ongoing • Clinical Shift Schedule: Flexible schedule COVERAGE DATES • Start Date: April 1, 2026 • End Date: Ongoing • Approximately 15 shifts needed PATIENT INFORMATION • Patient Demographics: All ages • Patient Volume/Census: Approximately 26,000 annual ED visits • Admissions: Yes • Case Mix: General emergency medicine FACILITY INFORMATION • No. of Beds in Department: 14 emergency department beds • EMR System: Cerner • Office Equipment Available: Fully equipped emergency department • Specialty Backup Available: Inpatient and surgical services • Support Staff Available: APP coverage 12 hours per day • Reason for Coverage: Staffing coverage PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE • Hospital Privileges Required: Yes • Presentation Requirements: Active Florida license, board certification preferred, active DEA, and CSR if required COMPENSATION & BENEFITS • Overtime: Daily overtime after 12 hours and weekly overtime after 168 hours per contract terms • Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered
Requirements
- Active Florida medical license
- Active DEA required
- As required for emergency medicine privileges
- Emergency medicine experience required
- Ability to manage a broad range of emergency conditions
- Emergency department evaluations and management
- Responding to rapid response calls and codes

- Board Certification preferred in Emergency Medicine
Responsibilities
- Provide emergency medical care in a community emergency department
- Manage acute and emergent patient presentations
- Respond to rapid response events and codes
- Collaborate with APPs and hospital staff
- Document all patient care accurately and timely
